Count, Time & Place!

Practise English numbers, telling the time and prepositions with Count, Time & Place!, a printable board game that combines three everyday language skills.

Players follow the path and complete different challenges along the way. They count aloud, read analogue and digital clocks, and describe where people or objects are positioned using English prepositions.

The board includes counting activities from 0 to 100, exercises with odd and even numbers, different clock times and illustrations that invite learners to use words such as in, on, under, behind and next to.

The game can be adapted to different English levels. Beginners can practise numbers, times and individual prepositions, while learners with more experience can use complete sentences and different ways of telling the time.

What will you practise?

Practise counting in English from 0 to 100, recognising odd and even numbers, and telling the time using analogue and digital clocks. The activities help develop everyday English vocabulary, speaking skills and sentence formation.

How does it work?

Roll the dice and move your game piece along the board. The colour of the square determines your challenge.

Orange squares – Prepositions: Look at the illustration, name a suitable preposition and use it in a sentence. For example: The boy is behind the box.

Yellow squares – Counting: Count aloud using the numbers shown on the square. You may be asked to count from 21 to 30, name some odd or even numbers, or count in tens.

Pink squares – Telling the time: Look at the analogue or digital clock and say the time in English. For example: It's half past six.

More than one correct answer may be possible, especially when describing the illustrations or expressing the time in different ways.

Suitable for classroom activities, small groups and individual practice.
